Portland South Waterfront Ecoroofs

After a whirlwind ramp up, Ecoroof Portland 2011 is here! This Friday, March 18, Portland Bureau of Environmental Services is hosting the third annual educational ecoroof event, open to the public. Even more exciting, is that this year, Portland Mayor Sam Adams declared the entire month of March “Ecoroof Month.” It’s been tremendously exciting to be involved with the expanded programming—from a world class lecture series to tours of Portland’s most innovative ecoroofs.

If you’re interested in learning more about ecoroofs for you home or business, we hope you’ll join us at the Oregon Convention Center from 10am-6pm this Friday. Here are some highlights of what’s in store for you!

  • Internationally renowned speakers Paul Kephart and Wolfgang Ansel will round out the March lecture series (which kicked off with the March 3 lecture by Stephan Brenneisen). Both are at the forefront of the industry and doing exciting work in their field.
  • The rise in popularity for ecoroofs has spawned an entire industry of professionals. The best ecoroof designers, landscapers, vendors and contractors in the region will be available to help plan an ecoroof of your own for home or business.
  • Portland BES staff will be on hand as well to answer questions and provide information on the upcoming window for the city’s popular Ecoroof Incentive Program.
  • Live updates throughout the day via the Ecoroof Portland Facebook page (respectful public interaction + posting of your own photos from the event welcome!)
